Honeybanana Brownies
Grew up in a family, who appreciates food as a gift from God, I never throw away any leftover. But it’s not easy to eat a leftover, especially if you already get tired of it. This is what happened with the banana bread that I baked a few days ago. I decided to give a twist and transform it into Honeybanana fudge brownies. And the result viola! Perfect company for my black coffee today. This is how to make this indulgent treat
You will need:
- 3 days old banana bread, preferably self baked
- 2 – 3 tbs honey
- 200 gram good quality dark chocolate, melted au-bain-marie
- Hazelnuts, chopped (optional)
- 2 – 3 tbs cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
The ingredients need to be adjusted based on the amount of the banana bread you have left. This time, I used a little more than a quart of banana bread loaf.
First you need to cut the banana bread into small pieces and then create crumbs from it. You can also use food processor for finer result. Then pour in the honey, 1 spoon at a time, to create a thick kind of dough. If you like to have a strong taste of honey, then you can add 1 extra tbs more. Once the chocolate is melted, pour it slowly into the mix of banana bread and honey. You can add the chopped hazelnuts if you like ( I didn’t use it here). Mix it thoroughly.
Put the brownies in the rectangular pan. Keep it in the fridge until it sets, it usually takes between 30 mins to 1 hour. Dust them with cocoa powder if you like, cut them into brownie size and serve with hot tea or coffee. Enjoy !
PS: You can serve the brownies in cold or room temperature.
