Just to share the story with you, last year trial was a disaster. I mean it every words. First the eggs didn’t get coloured, seems it just didn’t work. Then the batter went all over and it just looked like exploded eggs. You don’t believe me? I have a proof here:

It looks ugly right? So this year, I gave it a try and bake it once again. This time, I used white eggshells. After I emptied the shells and cleaned them with hot water, I let it dry for a day on the kitchen towel. Then I coloured the shells by using a mix of food colouring and white vinegar. Apparently the vinegar helped the colour to stay nicely on the eggshells. Then learned from the previous mistake, I greased the inner part of the eggshells with vegetable oil, then pour the cupcake batter just till it reached half of the shells. And the result, viola! Not bad right?? As you can see, I also coloured the batter, the idea is to have a tie dye cupcakes.. but the colours didn’t mixed properly, although it still look a bit tie dye 🙂 Check this picture with the close-up on the cupcake

I am quite happy with the results!
